January 2006

I’m not 100% sure we are going to stick with this, but for now you can check out our photos on Flickr

Flickr is a community of photographs that you can tag and share with people etc. Very cool only Im not sure its really all its cracked up to be becuase you can only upload so many pictures each month (and I would like to use significantly more than I am allowed). May have to make something in the future, would be sure to give you all access if you wanted it though.

Anyway, for now, here it is. If you have a flickr account and would like me to see your photos, please drop us a little comment!

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Well the grandparents have arrived from Ireland and everything so far is going really well. There was a little issue at the start which meant Granny and Granda had to meet Caleb for the first time in the E.R.

Stacey and Caleb got discharged from hospital on Saturday morning and were home by 1200, however, Caleb started choking and turned a little blue, one quick call (911) and EMS arrived and re-admitted Caleb into hospital just to get checked out!

Now, before you worry, things are ok. The doctor kept Caleb in for two days to get a proper assesment done and the issue is just a little GERD. We were given some good resources to look after Caleb and now we are back home!!

Which leads to the title of this post. Grand-daddy and Granny were very tired after such a busy day on Monday (when we eventually got home). So Grand-daddy crashed on the couch. Lindsay’s snoring was too much for little Caleb who was also trying to get some sleep of his own.

Thought you may like these pictures, cumulatvely they speak 2,000 words.

More pics of Caleb and the crew to come!!

I can tell most of you already got the news (because the blog poll comments went decidedly baby orientated!

Well the big day has finally arrived!!!

Caleb John [dermo - honorary] Allen was born on January 11th 2006 at 0810 GMT (0110 where Caleb happened to be at that time) Baby and Mummy are good.

It was kinda weird actually, we didnt know Stace was in labour (although looking back the contractions and severe pain should have been a give away). Because Stace was induced we thought they were just false contractions. They were working toward getting stacey an epidural, one nurse decided to check and discovered all Stacey had to do was push and baby would be born.

Excellent pushing by Stacey, the doctor was really impressed!

Baby was born and was 5lbs 15.5 oz (2708 Grams) and 21 Inches tall (51.5 cm - I think). Both Baby and mum are doing really well!!

Click here for all the pics, you can download them too - thanks Dermo for the viewer

Well I thought I would introduce a little poll regularly in the site to encourage a little participation from you guys.

The question for now is….

Does taking your McDonald’s tray back lead to better service or unemployment? I would love to hear your reasonings behind this, so please attach a comment with your vote (not that you can actually do that, but just attach a comment to this post.

So here’s the thing, you get your big mac and fries and pop/coke and they give you a tray as well… if you leave the tray back does that lead to greater efficiency in your local Micky D’s or, do McDonalds decide they dont need as much staff (because you are doing their job for them) and fire a few.

Would love to hear your comments!!

Well when we knew we were pregnant we were told the due date was January 1st. “Whoohoo!!” you see in Canada you get prizes for the baby if its the first baby born in the city or province or entire country in the new year. These prizes are pretty good too; like scholarships and free diapers/nappies.

So we thought that would be nice.

Also, because we live in gas/oil rich Alberta, Ralph Klein decided to give all Alberta residents $400 due to oil profits being so high, but baby had to be born in 2005 for that to happen.

Man all this sounds so mercenistic. All we really want is a healthy baby

Well now its January 5th 2006, new years baby has been born, and Stacey is in her fourth Trimester, now the waiting game starts.

Baby will get induced on 10th January; we would appreciate your prayers then.

Stacey and I are joining the wonderful world of blogging. Will let you know how it goes.

Honestly, if you ask me, I think blogging is one of the most selfish, self-centered haughty things anyone could be involved in. Just because we have the technology to easily transfer our thoughts onto the World Wide Web for any passer by to dissect doesn’t mean that any passer by wants to dissect it, but I digress.

I’m hoping I can update this during the times I am at work and need to sit in my car and there is absolutely nothing else I can do. But we shall see.

Talk to you soon*

*That’s actually quite funny, because in a lot of ways that’s the most accurate time we will ever say talk to you soon (apart from the fact I am typing not talking) I mean, normally we “talk with you soon” even though we say talk to you soon.
