August 2007

So we bought this coupon sheet for Crimestoppers, (one sheet at $25 had $500 worth of coupons for companies in Medicine Hat).  5 such coupons are for free movie rentals at Movie Gallery.  So I went and picked up our third free movie today and was advised by the teller that there is a $1 credit on our account “because you brought back your last movie early”.  Sweet, I’m getting real cash from a coupon.

Canada are a huge coupon culture.  Superstore (like Tesco’s) gives out a coupon once a month - spend $250 at once and we will give you $30 off your bill.  When we bought our Wii, we had to queue up before the store opened to buy it (demand was so high), the guy came out and gave us numbers in the order that we arrived - to keep things calm and Canadian.  The same guy also gave us a coupon for $30 off our purchase.  Only in Canada would you queue up before a store opened to buy a product and they would still give you over 10% off!

There they are!Just thought I would put up this picture of exactly where Mum and Dad are staying while in India.  I guess if you don’t know Bangalore then you are pretty much stuck.  I was skyping with Dad last night and he gave me his exact coordinates.  Then it was time for Google Earth to kick in.  It’s amazing how accurate that is, even on the other side of the world.

One Wash Down, Two to GoWell, it took three washes but finally all the vaseline is out of Caleb’s hair.  For future reference, if it happens to you just use cornstarch, douse it on like talc and then wash it off with a strong shampoo.  Works a charm, but all the stress has made Caleb go gray early.

The Stress is Making Caleb go Gray alreadyWhat else is new…  I have taken a week off work and am enjoying getting things ready for baby number 2, also found a cool game online - America’s Army.  Very cool and very free (my favourite).  It does tend to make Americans look awesome, but it was designed by the American Army, so what do you expect?
Stacey is getting bigger, only four weeks to go and we hope less, so we can get to Melissa’s wedding.

Caleb with VaselineWell we haven’t written for such a long time, and I should probably be apologetic, after all I am hardly living up to the award Times Magazine gave me back in 2006.

Just thought I would let you all see Caleb in all his glory, he is getting into everything, including the vaseline (petroleum jelly).  Cant keep him off the stuff!

It may take some time getting this stuff out of his hair, so don’t expect another entry in a while!
